Humanities and Religious Education Teacher

(Full Time)

Mercy College is a Catholic Secondary Girls’ College with a proud and rich history of education in the local Coburg area and surrounding suburbs.

We are currently seeking a Humanities and Religious Education Teacher for an ongoing full time position, commencing Tuesday 28 January 2025.

In addition to the advertised role, we currently have a leadership position available as Learning Area Leader: Humanities. Potential applicants are invited to express their interest within their cover letter.

Learning Support Officer

We are currently seeking a Learning Support Officer, for a full time ongoing position commencing Monday 29 January 2024.

Learning Support Officer Position Description
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills including empathy, good listening skills and the ability to negotiate and liaise with parents/guardians, staff and students
  • Good understanding of administration and processes
  • Ability to:

    • work both independently as well as collaboratively, within a busy environment
    • maintain strict confidentiality and to exercise discretion and sound judgement
    • use a level of technology appropriate to the position and/or a willingness to learn other position specific software and highly developed attention to detail
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience
  • A willingness to undertake professional development
  • Demonstrated:

Teacher Librarian

The Teacher Librarian role is a contract position offered as a 0.4 (FTE) for Semester 2 of 2023.

In the Mercy spirit, love, compassion and service underpin all we are and do.

Ideally this will be a teacher with a specific qualification in this area of education. They will provide a broad range of digital, print, electronic and audio-visual resources to support the learning outcomes of students and support effective teaching.

The role will also involve supporting English teachers with Wide Reading programs at a junior secondary level and conducting daily library duties such as borrowing books to students, returns, shelving of resources and purchasing of resources for teaching staff.
